JENNIFER SUMMERFELDT

MOTHER + THERAPIST + AUTHOR + GUIDE

JENNIFER IS

PASSIONATE ABOUT HEALING AND BIRTHING AS TRANSFORMATIONAL EXPERIENCES.

Aside from Jennifer's professional credentials which include nine years of postsecondary education resulting in a Masters in Counselling Psychology, she continues to be dedicated to her own path of healing through which she has (L)earned the art of holding space for others (and herself) in non-ordinary states of consciousness.

She has a gift in presence that naturally invites humans to dive deep into the internal landscape to transform core limiting beliefs, imprints, and emotional blocks that lock them in their suffering. She has had many teachers along the path.  Whapio has been a seventeen year mentor and now, elder to Jennifer. Others who have informed her work: Bonnie Badenock, Jane Simington, Joe Dispenza, Byron Katie, Dan Siegel, Gabor Mate, Gordon Neufeld, and Gloria Lemay to name a few. Mostly, Jennifer has learned from the births she has attended and the healing journeys her clients have undergone, including her own.

Many of the people Jennifer has worked with say they’ve tried traditional counselling in the past but it left them feeling like 'something was missing'. When they came to Jennifer they noted feeling like they could finally start getting into the ‘nitty-gritty’ parts of their healing; allowing them to participate more deeply in their process of discovery, transformation, and growth.

Jennifer's approach to therapy is informed by the following: Trauma research, Polyvagal theory, neurobiology, altered states of consciousness, somatic theories, depth and transpersonal psychology, performance psychology and mindfulness practices. An eclectic therapeutic approach that follows the client's needs and the readiness of their system. Jennifer combines her passion about instinctive childbirth with her knowledge in nervous system informed therapy, along with her understanding of non-ordinary states of consciousness to bring about a unique approach to healing and integration-The Flowing Fears Process was born out this process of inquiry.
